Richa Chadha To Drag Payal Ghosh To Court For Naming Her In Sexual Assault Allegation Against Anurag Kashyap

Richa Chadha plans to initiate legal action against actress Payal Ghosh, days after the latter accused filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of sexual assault in a tweet.

Bollywood actress Richa Chadha in a statement said she will sue Payal Ghosh, who alleged that filmmaker Anurag Kashyap sexually harassed her and told her all the actresses who worked with him such as Huma Qureshi, Richa Chadha, Mahi Gil are okay with it and are just a call away.

Payal also claimed that Anurag Kashyap apparently told her that physical relationships are very normal between actresses and filmmakers.

Richa has released a statement on her social media profile denying all such allegations and condemned her name being mentioned in the allegations. She further added that genuinely wronged women should get justice at all cost.

Richa followed it up by sharing a clip from an older interview where she had spoken about #MeToo, Woody Allen and Harvey Weinstein. She tweeted, "Attempt to rape is a serious allegation. She should have gone to the cops. You think feminism is women dragging your name in an obscene, unnecessary way in their personal battles? So I can make cheap allegations about you on TV? - Your agenda has blinded you towards truth. Shame."

Anurag Kashyap, too, released an official statement through his lawyer on his official Twitter account stating that the allegations are completely "false, malicious and dishonest." He will also be suing Payal for defaming his name, reports suggested.

For the uninitiated,  In an interview, Payal Ghosh said that Anurag misbehaved with her but she doesn't have any proof as the incident happened at the end of 2014. She has also tweeted her #MeToo allegation where she has tagged the PMO in her tweet.
