Rekha Wanted to be an Air Hostess

The famous Bollywood actress never planned to enter the film world. Rather she wanted to be an air hostess. But poor financial conditions at home forced this daughter of South superstar Gemini Ganesan to venture into Bollywood.

Since her wish to become an air hostess could not come true when she did become a big name, the actress befriended air hostesses. In those days, imported makeup kits and brands were not easily available in India. After she learned the nuances of makeup Rekha used to ask her air hostess friends to bring imported makeup items for her from abroad.

She Was The First Bollywood Star To Enrol in Gym

After getting slammed repeatedly for her obese look, Rekha decided to take the criticism very seriously. Nowadays, you find actresses going to their trainers for pilates and yoga. However, during the '70s and '80s, it was quite unheard of.
