When Asked About Having an Actor as a Partner

In a recent interview with Anupama Chopra for The Hollywood Reporter India, Rashmika was asked a carefully framed question — how it feels when “your partner is from the same profession,” given that Alia Bhatt had once shared she does not discuss acting with Ranbir Kapoor.

Although Rashmika has never referred to Vijay as her partner or fiancé, the question subtly brought their rumoured relationship into the spotlight. Her response, however, focused not on Vijay but on her perspective about maintaining personal boundaries as an actor.

“When I’m Home, I Just Want to Be Home”

Rashmika explained that she prefers to keep a clear separation between her work and personal life. “As much as we are actors, I want to cut off from work when I go home. At least 80 per cent of the time, I don’t,” she admitted.

She added that she seeks advice when needed, but prefers keeping her home a work-free zone. “Talking about work is still work. When I’m at work or in a meeting, I give my 100 per cent, but when I’m at home, I’m at home. I’m that kind of a person.”

Protecting Her Personal Space

The actress further revealed that she avoids discussing films or industry matters even with her family. “We are actors and work doesn’t leave us, but with my mother, dad or anyone in my family, I don’t talk about work. I take my personal life extremely seriously. I’ve made it a thing — I don’t want to talk about work.”

Her words reflect a conscious effort to preserve balance and emotional well-being despite the constant public scrutiny.

Addresses 2026 Wedding Rumours as Speculation With Vijay Deverakonda

While the engagement and wedding reports continue to intensify, Rashmika has kept her stance firm. During the interaction, she said she would neither confirm nor deny the supposed February 2026 wedding, stating, “When it’s to be spoken about, we shall.” This measured response has only added to the mystery surrounding the couple’s relationship, even as fans eagerly await an official announcement.
