Ranveer Singh receives Rs 10 Crore extortion threat from Lawrence Bishnoi gang: Reports

Actor Ranveer Singh has allegedly received a Rs 10 crore extortion threat purportedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, according to multiple national media reports. The development has added to growing security concerns within the Hindi film industry.

The alleged threat comes days after gunshots were reported outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence, prompting heightened vigilance by Mumbai Police.

Threat Reportedly Sent via WhatsApp

According to reports, a suspected associate of the gang, identified as Harry Boxer, allegedly demanded Rs 10 crore from the actor. The threat was reportedly sent as a voice message from a United States-based phone number to the WhatsApp account of Ranveer Singh’s manager.

Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch has reportedly initiated an investigation into the matter. Officials are said to have reached out to authorities in the United States to gather details regarding the origin and ownership of the phone number used to send the message.

Link to Firing Incident Under Probe

The reported extortion threat follows a firing incident earlier this week outside Rohit Shetty’s residence, during which five rounds were allegedly fired. Police subsequently arrested the suspected shooters in connection with the case.

In that case, three accused, identified as Deepak Sharma, Sonu Kumar, and Sunny Kumar, were allegedly promised ₹3 lakh to carry out the firing. Reports indicate that an advance payment of ₹50,000 was made. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has reportedly claimed responsibility for the incident.

Security Concerns Rise

Authorities are currently examining possible links between the alleged threat to Ranveer Singh and the recent firing episode. Investigations in both cases are ongoing.

Neither the actor nor his representatives have issued an official statement regarding the reported threat so far.
