Bollywood stars’ obsession with the Maldives is not over yet as more and more celebrities have started jetting off to the island, again. After Disha Patani and Tiger Shroff, Sara Ali Khan, the latest to join the list of celebs vacationing in the Maldives are the ‘it’ couple – Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The two who recovered from Covid-19 recently were seen heading for a vacation which invited a lot of backlash from netizens for turning blind eye to the agony of people in the pandemic.
Twinning in white, the couple was papped at the airport as they headed to catch their flight to the Maldives. Soon after the pictures hit the internet, netizens started expressing their disappointment with the stars vacationing while this massive health crisis has taken over the country and globe. Ranbir had tested positive for coronavirus in March and after the star recovered from the virus, beau Alia Bhatt was diagnosed positive for COVID-19 in April. However, on April 14, the actress announced that she tested negative for the virus. Many fans also questioned if the two have donated plasma as they have recovered from the virus.

Meanwhile, the couple is expected to tie the knot soon. Earlier in an interview, Ranbir Kapoor had revealed that he would have tied the knot last year itself if not for the pandemic. He said, “Well, I think it would have already been sealed if the pandemic had not hit our lives. I don’t want to jinx it by saying anything. I want to tick mark that goal very soon in my life.”
