‘How Negative Can You Be in Life?’

Addressing the pressure actors face to remain relevant through PR-driven narratives rather than performances, Rakul expressed concern over extreme publicity strategies that involve targeting or bashing fellow actors. Sharing her philosophy, she said that while a basic PR presence is part of the profession, crossing the line into negativity reflects poorly on one’s values.

She added that her belief system is rooted in karma and honesty, maintaining that good work eventually finds recognition. According to Rakul, her mind does not naturally gravitate towards calculated PR moves, as she prefers to let her performances define her journey rather than manufactured hype.

On Paparazzi Pressure and Being ‘Camera-Ready’

Rakul also opened up about the constant scrutiny celebrities face from paparazzi and the unspoken pressure to look flawless every time they step out. Admitting she does not overthink being photographed, the actor shared a light-hearted anecdote involving her mother pointing out that she had been clicked multiple times in the same jeans.

She explained that it is unrealistic to be perfectly styled at all times and believes actors should not burden themselves with unnecessary pressure. For Rakul, authenticity and comfort matter more than maintaining a curated public image.
