A Grand Return With Rajamouli’s Vision

Speaking about her comeback, Priyanka shared how meaningful it feels to step onto an Indian film set after nearly six years. For her, Varanasi isn’t just another project- it’s the perfect doorway back.

Bollywood’s Desi Girl said, "I am so happy to be coming back and, you know, making this movie in India, because if there was any other, any way to come back into Indian cinema, it was this."

Don and Krrish Rumours Stir Excitement

Speculation around her possible return to Don and Krrish has been growing louder. However, Priyanka chose to remain guarded when asked directly about reprising those beloved roles.

She responded, "I don't know if I can talk about either of them at all."

Her answer instantly drew a playful yet telling reaction from co-star Mahesh Babu, who quipped, "Then there's something happening."

The cryptic exchange only added fuel to the excitement.

Rediscovering the Joy of Indian Sets

For Priyanka, Varanasi also brings back something she missed deeply - music and dance.

She remarked, "Exciting, exciting times ahead, and yes, this (Varanasi) is the first one that I am doing after, like, almost six years in India, and just coming back. My favourite part, was getting to dance again. I haven't done that in any of my Hollywood productions. I was really excited to be able to do that."

Balancing Hollywood and Bollywood

Having built a strong footing internationally, Priyanka explained how different filmmaking cultures demand different mindsets. Switching between the West and India, she said, requires mental recalibration rather than blending experiences.

The actor said, "Um, yes, I think that the culture of filmmaking is very different in Hollywood versus how we work in India, and you have to pivot your brain. So I can divide my brain into two. I don't think there is a world in which you bring lessons from there, here, or vice versa. I think you have to, like, immerse yourself into..."

A Director’s Actor at Heart

Priyanka also emphasized how every performance is shaped by the filmmaker’s perspective, reinforcing her belief in surrendering to the director’s vision.

PeeCee said, "And I believe, anyway, an actor's journey is through a director's vision, whether it was Ilya (Ilya Naishuller, director) or Heads of State or any other work that I've done abroad, all filmmakers in Hindi cinema or television cinema. I think you just have to go into every film set with, you know, the originality of whatever you are going to receive from that set."

What’s Next

While Varanasi gears up for release next year, Priyanka Chopra will also appear in her upcoming Hollywood project The Bluff, scheduled to stream digitally on February 25, 2026. With major projects lined up across continents, her return marks a new, cross-industry chapter.
