South Indian film industry is all about big budget, ‘larger than life’ film sets, action, drama, VFX, etc. Be it Rajnikanth or Baahubali Prabhas, numbers of South Indian actors from Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam industries have made a notable mark in the Indian film industry. While South film industry has already received international recognition, some actors from the industry even get much more paid than Bollywood actors.

Here’s a list of the leading actors from the South and their remuneration for each film:

Rajnikanth

The 68 years old actor and Superstar Rajnikanth, who has also left his footprints in Bollywood with several commercially hit films, reportedly charges around Rs 50-60 crore for each film. Rajnikanth’s signature style and dialogue delivery makes his fans crazy and his popularity can be determined from the numbers of fan clubs across the country he enjoys.

Kamal Hassan

Kamal Hassan is a notable personality in the Indian film industry and has set a distinguished identity presenting his skills as an actor, film director, dancer, producer, screenwriter, playback singer and lyricist. Kamal has a notable contribution in Bollywood as well as Tamil film industry. The actor charges Rs 25-30 crores for one film.

Prabhas

Darling Prabhas witnessed tremendous growth in his popularity with the release of SS Rajamouli's Baahubali. Prabhas is a notable actor in the South film industry and several blockbusters back his successful career. Prabhas had charged Rs 25 crore for Baahubali as his remuneration. It is heard, Prabhas is charging higher now after the tremendous success of Baahubali series.

Jr. NTR

Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Junior or Jr. NTR is known and loved for his exceptional performance and giving life to which ever character he takes up. Tarak has a list of blockbuster movies. Currently Jr. NTR charges Rs 18-20 crore for each movie. Jr. NTR is currently working for RRR with SS Rajamouli directing the movie.

Suriya

Suriya is a renowned film actor, producer and television presenter with notable contribution to South Indian film industry. Several blockbusters of Suriya made him one of the leading actors in the South industry. Currently, Suriya charges around Rs 17-20 crores per film.

Mahesh Babu

Mahesh Babu is the younger son of Telugu actor Krishna. Apart from working as a child artist in several movies, Mahesh Babu made his debut as the lead actor in Rajakumarudu. Mahesh even has been cited as one of the most handsome male actors in India. Mahesh charges around Rs 18 crore as his remuneration for each movie.

Ram Charan

Ram Charan, son of Mega Star-actor-politician Chiranjeevi, is one of the influential actors in Tollywood and Ram Charan's notable performance in films like Magadheera, Chirutha and Rangasthalam has placed him in the top list of actors. He charges around Rs 12-17 crores for each film. Currently, the actor is working with SS Rajamouli in RRR.

Allu Arjun

Be it playing the character of 'Lover Boy' Arya or Bunny, Allu Arjun has nailed his character in every movie. Movies like Happy, Arya, Bunny, Desamuduru, Badrinath and many more have a huge contribution in his tremendous achievement. Allu Arjun is the most stylish star in South film industry. As per recent reports, Allu Arjun charges Rs 14 crore per film.

Vikram

Vikram is a winner of seven Filmfare Awards and National Film Award. His notable films include 'Pithamagan', 'I' and many more. The actor charges Rs 12 crore for each film.

Dhanush

Son-in-law of superstar Rajnikanth, Dhanush is an eminent actor, producer, director, writer, screenwriter, lyricist and playback singer. Dhanush also has made eminent mark in Bollywood. The actor charges Rs 10-15 crores per film as his remuneration.
