Pakistan declares Salman Khan a ‘terrorist’ over Balochistan remark
Actor Salman Khan has found himself at the centre of a major controversy after his recent remarks about Balochistan reportedly triggered outrage in Pakistan. Following his comments at the Joy Forum 2025 in Riyadh, the Pakistani government has allegedly placed him under the 4th Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act (1997) — a category meant for individuals suspected of links to terrorism.
A purported notification from the Balochistan Home Department, dated October 16, 2025, describes Salman as an “Azad Balochistan Facilitator,” though its authenticity remains under verification. Inclusion in the 4th Schedule subjects an individual to close monitoring, movement restrictions, and possible legal action.
The controversy stems from Salman’s statement mentioning “people from Balochistan” separately from Pakistan, which officials in Islamabad interpreted as undermining the nation’s territorial integrity. However, the remark has drawn praise from several Baloch separatist leaders, who said it brought international attention to their struggle.
Mir Yar Baloch, a leading advocate for Baloch independence, said Salman’s words “brought happiness to six crore Baloch people.” The actor has not yet issued an official response.
On the professional front, Salman Khan was last seen in Sikandar and is currently working on Battle of Galwan, set to release next year.
