Odisha Girl In Superstar Rajinikanth’s Darbar?

Bhubaneswar: An Odia girl will reportedly be seen sharing screen space with Superstar Rajinikanth in his next action thriller movie, Darbar. The girl, Debosmita Patnaik, happens to be a resident of Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district.

Soon after a picture of Debosmita with Rajinikanth went viral on social media, rumour mills were abuzz that she will be featuring in Darbar. Later, her family members gave confirmation on the news.

"We are happy and proud of Debosmita's achievement. As family members, we have always extended support to her so that she could fulfil her dreams," said Debosmita's mother, Indira Patnaik.

Debosmita's brother, Debashish Patnaik said, "She should be given complete credit for her achievement. Not only family members but the entire Parlakhemundi is proud of her."

Darbar is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action thriller film of Rajinikanth, which has been written and directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Allirajah Subaskaran. The movie is expected to release under the banner of Lyca Productions.

"She is a trained Odissi dancee and has received many awards for her achievements. She has now become an inspiration for aspiring dancers of the State," said Debosmita's music teacher Raghunath Patra.

Apart from Rajinikanth, Nayanthara will be seen in the movie as the female lead.

While the audio launch of Darbar is expected to happen sometime in November or December, the movie is likely to hit the theaters on January 15, 2020.
