Amid all these rumours, details about the past relationships of Sania Mirza as well as Shoaib have now surfaced. Before marrying Sania, Shoaib was married to another girl Ayesha Siddiqui who like Sania was from Hyderabad, India. Later on, the former Pakistani cricket captain divorced Ayesha and married Sania.

The Indian tennis star was also in a relationship with an Indian boy from Hyderabad, her hometown. Rather, she was engaged to her college friend Sohrab Mirza whose family is considered to be one of the illustrious families from the city of Nawabs. They have a chain of Bakery shops across Hyderabad and are quite affluent.

Sania met Sohrab for the first time at Saint Mary College and during their five years of college life, the two became very good friends. While Soharab went to the UK after graduating in commerce for his MBA, Sania continued with her tennis.

Sohrab and Sania got engaged in 2009. The couple was happy and the families were also happy as everything was arranged according to their expectations. But after six months, they broke off the engagement.

Reportedly, Mirza's family wanted Sania to stop playing tennis after marriage. But Sania’s father wanted his daughter to continue playing the game she loved so much and for which she had worked very hard since childhood. There were reports in tabloids that suggested that since Sania was a celebrity player and Sohrab came from a traditional family, they could not get along well after the engagement and that Sania tried to dominate her fiancée.

Within a few months of the engagement, Sania reportedly realised that she would not be able to continue with this relationship for a long time and hence called off the engagement.
