Megastar Chiranjeevi's upcoming Telugu remake of Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer, which was officially announced and launched a couple of months ago, is likely to start rolling from next month.

The film, which will see the Megastar reprising the titular role in the Telugu remake, will be helmed by director Mohan Raja who is known films such as Jayam, M Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi, Santosh Subramaniam and Thani Oruvan. Notably, this mark Raja's return to Telugu film direction nearly after almost two decades.

For the past few days, there were reports circulating that Trisha is set to replace Nayanthara in ‘Lucifer’ remake. Reportedly, Nayanthara is roped into play the role essayed by Manju Warrier in the original. But, there is no official confirmation on the same till now from the production company or the actress.

However, several reports suggesting that Trisha is going to replace the Mookuthi Amman star are still making rounds. But it seems these reports were false and Nayanthara has not backed out of this project.

Sources close to actress revealed that she has signed this film long back and is ready to allot her dates as well. Reportedly, Trisha has not been considered for this film at all, said sources.

The film is jointly produced by NV Prasad and Konidela Productions. The film will also see Satya Dev Kancharana reprising Tovino Thomas's role, while SS Thaman has been roped in to compose music for the movie.
