Mystery over Odia actress Nikita’s death prevails; post mortem report awaited

Cuttack: Mystery shrouds the death of popular Odia TV and film actress Laxmipriya Behera alias Nikita as the exact cause behind her death is yet to be established. However, Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty today informed that a case of unnatural death has been registered and further investigation is on.

“As per information, a case of unnatural death has been registered in connection with the incident. We have not received any allegations so far. However, if any allegation comes or anything unusual is revealed in the post-mortem report, we will carry out probe accordingly," said Mohanty.

It is pertinent to be noted that Nikita died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack on Saturday. She was admitted to the hospital following a head injury after falling from the terrace of her parental house at Mahanadi Vihar on Friday night.

Nikita is survived by her husband Lipan Sahu of Gopalpur in Cuttack and a six-month-old daughter.
