The living legend Amitabh Bachchan celebrated his 83rd birthday on October 11, 2025. As the ‘Shehenshah of Bollywood’ marked another milestone, warm wishes poured in from fans and colleagues across the globe. Among the many heartfelt messages was one from Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu’s relative, who not only shared her admiration for the megastar but also made a surprising confession.

The Confession That Stole the Spotlight

The actress in question is none other than Shilpa Shirodkar, Amitabh Bachchan's former co-star, and the sister of Mahesh Babu’s wife, Namrata Shirodkar.

Taking to Instagram, Shilpa shared a series of nostalgic throwback pictures from the sets of their 1992 blockbuster Khuda Gawah. One photo captured Shilpa affectionately embracing Bachchan, while another monochrome frame showed her in a police uniform with the megastar standing behind her.

A Post Straight From the Heart

Her caption read, “To the man I secretly wanted to marry when I was a fan, and the man who taught me so much as a co-star! Wishing a fantastic birthday to Amit ji! May you continue to light up our screens for many more years, Amitabh Bachchan.” (sic)

The post struck a chord with fans, who flooded the comments section with love and admiration for her candid honesty. 

A Classic Remembered: Khuda Gawah

Directed by Mukul S. Anand, the 1992 hit Khuda Gawah featured Amitabh Bachchan and Sridevi in lead roles, alongside Nagarjuna, Shilpa Shirodkar, and Danny Denzongpa. The story spanned across Afghanistan and India and was one of the most expensive Indian films of its time, with a budget of Rs 5.7 crore. Released on May 7, 1992, it went on to become the third highest-grossing Indian film of the year.

Shilpa’s Life Beyond the Spotlight
