Salman Khan’s Kick 2 has been generating curiosity ever since its confirmation by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. Though the film is yet to roll, every new whisper around its casting keeps the buzz alive.

Recently, Salman Khan, currently occupied with the shoot of Battle Of Galwan, added fuel to the excitement by stating that he would “100 % recommend Bigg Boss 19 fame Pranit More's name for the sequel.” While fans are still waiting for the film to go on floors, speculation around the cast has reached a fever pitch.

Akshaye Khanna’s Name Sparks Frenzy

A week ago, social media platforms were flooded with claims that Akshaye Khanna might join Kick 2 as the antagonist. According to the buzz, the acclaimed actor was set to bring his trademark intensity to the franchise.

The rumours suggested that his character could range from a formidable villain to a cerebral mastermind or even something entirely unexpected. With Akshaye Khanna’s name attached, fans believed the excitement around Kick 2 had escalated dramatically. 

Meanwhile, rumours have been circulating about Marco fame Unni Mukundan joining Kick 2, fuelling expectations for a power-packed sequel; however, there has been no official confirmation.

Birthday Announcement On The Cards?

Adding to the speculation, reports hinted that the makers were planning an official announcement on Salman Khan’s birthday, December 27. This claim further strengthened the belief that casting confirmations were imminent.

Kriti Sanon vs Jacqueline Fernandez: What’s the Truth?

Soon after, another report surfaced suggesting that Jacqueline Fernandez would not return for the sequel and that Kriti Sanon had been approached to step in as the female lead. However, a source close to the project has now addressed all such claims, putting the rumours to rest.

Official Clarification on Casting Rumours

Responding to the speculation, the source issued a clear statement. “All reports doing the rounds about Kick 2, including speculation around casting changes, are completely false and baseless. No official details have been planned, and the makers will share information only when the time is right,” said the source.

This clarification confirms that no casting decisions, new or replacement, have been officially finalised so far.

Kick 2 Story Progress: What We Know So Far

Earlier this year, Kick writer Rajat Arora shed light on the sequel’s storyline in a conversation with Mid-Day. He revealed, “We are taking the story ahead from where Kick (2014) ended, with Salman’s character (becoming) a police officer.”

Explaining the delay, Arora added, “If any character demands a sequel, it is Devi Lal from Kick. There has been a huge demand for the sequel, and we could have done it much earlier if we wanted to cash in on Kick’s popularity and Salman’s stardom. But we didn’t want to make the film for the heck of it; we wanted it to have a new story and be perfect. That’s why it has taken us some time. The scripting is in progress, and will be completed soon.”
