Kapil Sharma Duped Of Over Rs 5 Crore, Mumbai Police Records Statement

Kapil Sharma has been reportedly duped of Rs 5.5 crore by a car designer identified as Dilip Chhabria. The stand-up comedian had reportedly paid the amount to Chhabria for designing his new vanity van but the latter never delivered the same.

Chhabria, a popular car designer, was arrested on December 29 in connection with car finance and fake registration racket.

According to India Today, Kapil on Thursday recorded his statement against Dilip Chhabria. The news came to light after the actor-comedian was spotted leaving Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) office in Mumbai.

The 'Firangi' actor revealed that he decided to meet the Mumbai Police Commissioner after he came to know about Chhabria's arrest.

Kapil has also reportedly filed a complaint against Chhabria with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police.
