Roja star Arvind Swamy today shared his fresh pictures as MGR Thalaivar (Dr. M.G. Ramachandran) in the upcoming Kangana Ranaut-led movie Thalaivi. Incidentally, it is the death anniversary of the People's King of  Tamil Nadu, and the release of these pictures was timed to mark this occasion.

In his post, the actor wrote, "It was not just an honour to play the role of Puratchi Thalaivar MGR, but a great responsibility. I thank director A.L. Kangana Ranaut and Arwind Swamy's Thalaivi is a Biopic on the Life of  Jayalalithaa

Thalaivi is the biopic on the life of the famous Tamil Nadu politician and long-serving (6 terms) Chief Minister of the state Jayalalithaa. She first started off her career as an actress in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada movies. Her liaison with MGR who after a successful stint in movies became one of the superstrong political figures in the South attracted a lot of attention.
