Jailer 2: Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan set for historic first-time collaboration; Mithun Chakraborty drops bombshell

The buzz around Jailer 2 has just exploded, thanks to a surprising revelation by Mithun Chakraborty. While confirming the return of several powerhouse names, the veteran actor also let slip a detail that could make cinematic history- Shah Rukh Khan is part of the film.

Mithun Chakraborty Accidentally Drops a Bombshell!

During a candid conversation with Siti Cinema, Mithun Chakraborty reflected on his long and diverse career when asked if he had a preference for specific genres. His response immediately turned heads.

“No, you cannot decide like that. My next is Jailer 2, where everybody is against me,” he said.

What followed was an unexpected confirmation that sent fans into a frenzy.

“Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Shah Rukh Khan, Ramya Krishnan, Shiva Rajkumar, all their characters are against me” he added.

With this statement, Mithun not only confirmed Shah Rukh Khan’s involvement but also hinted strongly that he himself may be playing the antagonist in the sequel.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Cameo: The Worst-Kept Secret?

Though there had been whispers about a major Bollywood presence in Jailer 2, this marks the first near-official confirmation of Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo. The actor’s inclusion adds another layer of excitement to Nelson Dilipkumar’s ambitious sequel, already stacked with iconic names.

Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan: A First-Ever On-Screen Reunion

Despite decades of superstardom, Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan have never truly shared screen space- until now. Many fans recall the 2011 film Ra. One, where Rajinikanth’s character Chitti from Enthiran appeared briefly. However, that moment did not feature the superstar himself.

Actor Suresh Menon later clarified the long-standing speculation, saying, “There were rumours that Rajinikanth saab himself would come for the cameo. I think I can speak about it now. That wasn’t him. It’s a known secret in the industry that he wasn’t keeping well at that time.”

Shah Rukh Khan later paid tribute to Rajinikanth with the viral Lungi Dance in Chennai Express (2013), but Jailer 2 will finally bring the two legends together in the same frame.
