To honor his contribution towards humanity, Sarat Chandra IAS Academy, Sarat Chandra Degree College, and Sarat Chandra Junior College in Andhra Pradesh has decided to name its Arts and Humanities department after the name of the actor.

From now on the department will be named as Sonu Sood Department of Arts and Humanities. Talking to media on this occasion, the Jodha Akbar actor said, "I am extremely humbled and grateful. I feel fortunate that I received the opportunity to help whoever was in need. And now that such a big institute has honoured my actions, I will only be motivated to keep being there for those who need me.”
For Sonu Sood who is now a national icon, such rewards have been pouring in from all parts of the country. Last month the Election Commission of India appointed the actor as the State Icon of Punjab.
Sonu Sood To Ask Great Khali To Teach Wrestling to a Farmer's Boy
Late last month a son of a farmer requested Sonu to arrange for training of wrestling as he wanted to represent India internationally as a wrestler. He wrote, "@SonuSood @GovindAgarwal_ मेरे पापा एक किसान है और आपकेलिये किसान भगवान है। में इंडिया के लिए रेसलिंग करना चाहता हु। मुजे आपकी हेल्प चाहिए। बस sir मेरी रेसलिंग ट्रेंनिग सरु करवा दीजिए।"
Within a couple of days Sonu Sood responded, "अब हमारे ग्रेट ख़ली भाई आपको रेस्लिंग सिखाएँगे। ये मेरा वादा है ।"
