The country’s biggest singing reality show, Indian Idol is back with its twelfth season with a bang. On Saturday night, the show premiered its new season and one participant in particular grabbed the eyeballs of the judges and viewers.

Yuvraj Medhe, who works as a sweeper on the sets of the show itself auditioned in front of the three judges Neha Kakkar, Himesh Reshammiya, and Vishal Dadlani. His enthralling performance and the emotional story moved everyone to tears.

Yuvraj revealed that he could not afford formal singing classes so he is self-taught him by taking notes of the judges’ comments and feedback for other contestants over the past years.  “Tum har Hindustani ki umeed ho. Koi bhi aadmi kahin pe bhi ban sakta hai, sirf mehnat karne ki zaroorat hai,” Himesh told him while he was teared up.

Vishal commented that genuine hard-working people like Medhe are proof that you only need a passion for singing and the stage of Indian Idol doesn’t discriminate between people if they have talent. He added that people like him are an answer to all those who call the show scripted or biased.

His crew members had heard him singing and pushed him to give this audience. His performance garnered a standing ovation from Neha, Himesh, and Vishal and a ticket to the next round.
