'I won’t be silenced': Chinmayi Sripada speaks out after morphed nude and threats to her children

Singer and dubbing artiste Chinmayi Sripada has once again found herself at the centre of a deeply distressing episode of online harassment. 

Known for her outspoken stance on women’s rights and safety, Chinmayi publicly revealed on Wednesday, 10 December, that she was sent a morphed nude photograph—an attempt to intimidate her into silence.

Chinmayi Tags Hyderabad Police After Receiving Morphed Image

Sharing the blurred morphed picture on X (formerly Twitter), Chinmayi tagged Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar and accompanied the post with a video. In it, she detailed the ongoing abuse she and her family have endured for weeks.

The harassment intensified after her husband, actor-filmmaker Rahul Ravindran, made a comment during a promotion for The Girlfriend, saying he had always left the choice of wearing a mangalsutra to Chinmayi. What was meant as a progressive remark triggered anger from certain groups online, leading to targeted trolling.

“I got a morphed image from a page today… whether legal action will happen or not is not the issue,” she wrote, emphasising that she shared it to warn girls and families about such tactics used to shame women into silence.

“My Children Have Been Given Death Threats”

In her emotional video, Chinmayi revealed the extent of the attacks:

“I have been abused, my children have been given death threats… There were men applauding and laughing at this.”

She also filed police complaints against individuals on Twitter Spaces who said that women like her should never have children and that their children “must die.”

According to her, many of the trolls are “paid” and coordinated, targeting her for weeks.

She warned that deepfakes and AI manipulation will only worsen such harassment in the future and urged women not to hesitate to take legal action.

“I am not the kind of woman who is shamed by this,” Chinmayi affirmed, standing firm despite the trauma directed at her and her family.
