Basyukta Basuprava

If there‘s any Bollywood celebrity who has become a pop culture icon over the years, it is Govinda who turns 57 today. What made him popular among the audience were not only films and offbeat characters but also his iconic songs that still make you hit the dance floor.

Over the years, with a number of Bollywood remakes hitting the screens it is not unusual that there were a number of remakes of Govinda’s songs as well. Even though the new remakes had some interesting additions, the audience felt that nothing could beat the original charms of the superstar.

On the occasion of the Hero. No. 1’s birthday, we compare the original to their latest remake. Take a look –

Mirchi Lagi Toh

The new Coolie No. 1 starring Varun Dhawan and Saif Ali Khan dropped its new track Mirchi Lagi Toh today. The duo had given a style upgrade to the original song Main Toh Raste Se Ja Raha Tha starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. With the original singers Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik lending their voice, Varun who is called the millennium Govinda also tries to mimic the legend with his own style. Sara and Varun’s chemistry also lights up the screen. As both of them are great at dancing and expressions, this song tries to do justice to the original chartbuster to its fullest.

Ankhiyon Se Goli Maare

Govinda and Raveen Tandon’s hit film Dulhe Raja (1998), Ankhiyon Se Goli Maare had become a viral sensation back in the ’90s and continued to play at any millennia’s party. Until Tanishk Bagchi, who is infamous for recreating blockbuster songs dropped his version of the song. Starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Pandey, the song was sung by Mika Singh which gave it the necessary party vibes but lacked the entertainment quotient of the original. The song also couldn’t recreate the memorable hook steps which was the reason it became a chartbuster.

Husnn Hai Suhaana

In the latest recreation of Coolie No. 1’s evergreen song Husn Hai Suhana Starring ChiChi and Lolo, Varun and Sara were seen dancing to the original hook steps of the song. With a modern twist to it, the song still has the 90’s vibes intact. But the Expression King Govinda‘s face that does wonders in a peppy will still be missed by the fans. However, it is a plus point they didn’t change the original singer and vibe of the song. This way the song acted as an ode to the original song and stars instead of just being a remake.
