Hardik Pandya slams paparazzi for “unacceptable” invasion of girlfriend Mahieka Sharma’s privacy

Hardik Pandya has issued a strong statement demanding accountability from the paparazzi after what he called an unacceptable invasion of privacy involving his girlfriend, Mahieka Sharma. 

The cricketer took to Instagram to condemn an incident where Mahieka was filmed in a manner he described as intrusive, unethical, and deeply disrespectful.

Pandya acknowledged that fame naturally brings attention, scrutiny, and camera flashes. He has long accepted this as part of his public life and often cooperates with photographers patiently. 

However, the latest incident, he said, “crossed a line.” Mahieka was simply descending a staircase at a Bandra restaurant when paparazzi captured her from an angle “no woman deserves to be photographed from,” turning an ordinary moment into “cheap sensationalism.”

A Call for Respect and Ethical Boundaries

In his post, Pandya made it clear that his concern is not about headlines or publicity but about dignity and boundaries. “Women deserve dignity. Everyone deserves boundaries,” he wrote, urging photographers to be mindful of the impact of their actions. 

While acknowledging the demanding nature of media work, he appealed for basic respect: “Not everything needs to be captured. Not every angle needs to be taken. Let’s keep some humanity in this game.”

His message resonated widely, sparking conversations about the ethics of celebrity coverage, especially when it involves partners who did not choose the public spotlight to the same extent.

A Relationship Under Growing Public Attention

The incident comes at a time when Pandya and Mahieka’s relationship has been receiving significant attention. After weeks of speculation driven by social media interactions and public outings, Pandya confirmed their relationship in October 2025.

The announcement, made just before his 32nd birthday, included photos and videos of the couple enjoying a beach holiday and performing a puja together.

Mahieka, a 24-year-old model and yoga trainer with a degree in Economics and Finance, has quickly become a familiar name among fans. Admirers praise the couple’s chemistry, calling them one of the most striking new celebrity pairings. Pandya has openly described her as one of the “three priorities” in his life, alongside cricket and his son, Agastya.

Despite the attention, Mahieka has maintained a grounded presence. She recently dismissed engagement rumours sparked by a ring seen in one of her photos, playfully noting that she simply loves “nice jewellery every day.”
