Sonam Kapoor Ahuja has come a long way since the time she started with Ranbir Kapoor in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's “Saawariya.” Over the years she has carved a niche for herself through a versatile selection of characters including “Neerja” for which she also won a National Award. But these controversial statements have also shown how ‘bindhas’ is her attitude. The “Khoobsurat” actress triggered controversy a couple of years ago when she called Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ‘Aunty.”

According to reports when Sonam replaced the “Miss World” in a popular cosmetic brand she was quoted saying that I should call Ash her aunty since the latter has worked with her dad Anil Kapoor. Later on, Sonam defended herself saying she was misunderstood.

When Karan Johar asked Sonam on his “Koffee With Karan” what advise she would like to give to Deepika Padukone, the actress came out with a shocking reply. The “Aisha” actress said, “Create your style. Katrina Kaif is herself. She does not try to fit into a mold, which I respect a lot.”Sonam further said that Deepika is a good girl gone bad and has an over-enthusiastic PR team.

Those were the times when Ranbir Kapoor had dumped Deepika for Katrina Kaif and the “Padmavat” actress was going through a rough patch in her life. Although these statement by Sonam were somewhere near the truth, they were badly timed and rubbed Deepika in a wrong way.
