Bhubaneswar: The Least of These – a movie based on the sensational murder of Australian missionary Graham Staines and his two sons in Odisha in 1999, will hit theatres soon. According to sources, the movie is all set for a release in the USA on February 1 and the producers are planning to showcase it on the big screens in India and Australia by March 2019.

Bollywood actor Sharman Joshi-starrer 'The Least of These' will showcase Hollywood actor Stephen Baldwin in the lead role as Graham Staines.  Ollywood actor Manoj Mishra will also feature in the movie along with Shari Rigby and Prakash Belawadi. Director Aneesh Daniel has cast Sharman Joshi as an investigative journalist in the movie, the trailer of which was released recently.

On his role in the movie, actor Sharman Joshi said, “The character himself discovers Graham Staines because the work that he does, he questions it up and then follows it with vigorous investigations and then comes to a conclusion before questioning that conclusion too.”

On January 22, 1999, Staines, was sleeping with his two sons Philip (aged 10) and Timothy (aged 6) inside his station wagon at Manoharpur on Keonjhar-Mayurbhanj border when a mob of about 50 surrounded them and set their vehicle on fire over allegations of forceful religious conversion.  The incident triggered widespread public outrage and Dara Singh, the main accused was sentenced to life imprisonment for orchestrating the attack.
