Hanu Raghavapudi confirms two-part structure

Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Fauzi marks the filmmaker’s first collaboration with Prabhas. Known for his emotionally rich storytelling and visually immersive narratives, Raghavapudi has confirmed that the film will be told in two parts.

The director revealed that while the first part focuses on one chapter of the protagonist’s journey, the second part will act as a prequel, offering a contrasting emotional and ideological perspective. Rather than repeating events, the prequel will peel back layers to reveal the man behind the uniform. According to Raghavapudi, watching both films together will provide audiences with a deeper understanding of the central character and his world.

He has also shared his vision of portraying Indian freedom fighters and revolutionaries as figures of strength, conviction, and idealism, rather than tragedy.

A patriotic war drama rooted in history

Set in the 1940s against the backdrop of India’s freedom struggle, Fauzi features Prabhas as a soldier in the Azad Hind Force, in a fictional narrative inspired by real historical events. The film is described as a large-scale, pre-Independence patriotic war drama exploring bravery, sacrifice, destiny, and socio-political tensions during the British era.

The first look of Fauzi was unveiled on Prabhas’ birthday on October 23, instantly sending fans into a frenzy with its striking visuals. The film stars Imanvi as the female lead, alongside Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada, and Anupam Kher in key roles. Reports also suggest the title could be Fauji, though official confirmation is awaited.
