In a groundbreaking move that fuses cinema with national pride, Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios are bringing their upcoming war drama 120 Bahadur directly to those who wear the uniform. The film is officially set to become the first Indian movie to release pan-India across defence theatres, thanks to PictureTime’s rapidly expanding mobile cinema network. Releasing globally on November 21, the initiative ensures that soldiers stationed at even the most remote borders can experience the film on the big screen- just like the rest of the nation.

A Historic Rollout for the Forces
PictureTime, in collaboration with GenSync Brat Media, has mapped out screenings across more than 800 defence cinema halls nationwide. These theatres predominantly serve soldiers and their families- many residing in far-flung regions where entertainment options are scarce. The underlying mission is clear: when the audience can’t reach the cinema, the cinema should reach them.
PictureTime Founder-CEO Sushil Chaudhary emphasised the importance of bridging this long-ignored gap.
“There are 1.5 million active soldiers and over six million viewers. But only 30% of India’s 20-million-strong veteran and family audience has access to defence cinemas. We aim to expand the ecosystem to additionally reach the underserved 70% and we begin with a bang with 120 Bahadur, a film we know will deeply resonate with the forces,” he said.
Excel Entertainment’s Heartfelt Tribute
For the makers, the initiative holds deep emotional meaning. Excel Entertainment CEO Vishal Ramchandani shared his gratitude for the unparalleled honour of screening the film first for the men and women it salutes.
“120 Bahadur honours the courage and sacrifice of our armed forces. We feel truly privileged that the soldiers whose spirit the film celebrates will be watching it with their families. Our sincere thanks to PictureTime for facilitating this screening for those who serve the nation,” he noted, adding that the vast outreach is possible only because of PictureTime’s support.
The Story Behind 120 Bahadur
120 Bahadur chronicles the heroic Battle of Rezang La- one of the most storied and emotional chapters in India’s military history. The film features Farhan Akhtar in a leading role, supported by a powerful ensemble including Raashii Khanna, Sparsh Walia, Vivan Bhatena, Dhanveer Singh, Digvijay Pratap, Sahib Verma, and Ankit Siwach. Senior officers Ajinkya Deo and Eijaz Khan also bring gravitas to key roles.
