Industry insiders suggest that the Producers Guild of India is preparing to convene a meeting to address the escalating tension. Interestingly, a recent gathering at the Mumbai residence of superstar Aamir Khan has now gained new significance.
A Closed-Door Meeting at Aamir Khan’s Residence!
A few days ago, several leading producers were spotted exiting Aamir Khan’s home, triggering speculation across Bollywood. While rumours hinted at a potential collaboration, reports now indicate the meeting had a different agenda altogether.
According to an HT City source, "Aamir is trying to resolve the issues between Ranveer Singh and Excel Entertainment. The two have had some unresolved issues, which have caught the eye. The meetings at his place are for the same."
The production banner in question, Excel Entertainment, is jointly headed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Among those seen at Aamir’s residence were prominent names such as Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, Ektaa Kapoor, Zoya Akhtar, and Punit Goenka.
The Rs 40 Crore Compensation Claim
Reports suggest that Excel Entertainment sought Rs 40 crore in damages following Ranveer Singh’s departure from Don 3. The production house allegedly incurred significant pre-production expenses before the actor stepped away from the film. Industry chatter further claims that Singh exited the project citing dissatisfaction with the script.
The reports also stated that Ranveer Singh left the project due to lack of a proper script. The actor reportedly said that the filmmaker was not ready for any changes in the script and also alleged that he was not serious about the project. He also maintained that he did not receive any advance payment for the venture and has never demanded compensation for shelved projects in the past, including Baiju Bawra.
Will Aamir’s Diplomacy End the Deadlock?
With tensions running high, Aamir Khan’s intervention could prove crucial. Known for his measured approach and strong industry relationships, the actor may help bridge the gap between the creative and financial disagreements.

Whether this mediation results in reconciliation- or marks a definitive end to the collaboration- remains to be seen. For now, Don 3 continues to dominate industry headlines for reasons far removed from its cinematic promise.
