Deepika Padukone has been in the news for her JNU visit, the recently released movie “Chhapaak” and her regular banter with hubby Ranveer Singh over social media. The actress had a dream debut in Bollywood through Farah Khan’s “Om Shanti Om” opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Being the daughter of World Badminton Champion Prakash Padukone, she was drawn to sports right from her childhood.

No Crash Diet, But Balanced Diet Is Mantra For Deeps

Being a food lover the “Padmavat” actress does not believe in crash dieting or restricting her from eating certain foods. Instead, she believes in taking a balanced diet. Before joining movies, Deepika was a model but says she never had to go on crash diets for getting those beachwear shots right because she always has been in a good shape.

Deepika during an event revealed that her father always encouraged the actress and her sister to play in the open. Hence the Padukone girls were always away from weight-gaining habits such as playing video games or watching television. One of the big secrets of Deepika Padukone’s svelte figure is loading up on adequate proteins every day. Proteins help you stay full for longer and build lean muscle mass. That is why the “83” actress eats egg whites in her daily breakfast and also includes grilled fish with vegetables in her lunch.

Eating meals that come from home is another major preference of the diva. While she is on sets Deepika only eats home-cooked food that is low in calories and packed with nutrition. Since toxic preservatives and artificial flavours are absent in such meals it helps the body to lose and maintain weight. The actress stresses on carrying dabbas to work for staying lean and fit. Deepika believes that eating smaller meals helps to keep the metabolism up and hence she never skips her meals.
