Bringing succour to the concerned voices of students, celebrities and political leaders across the country, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today announced cancellation of the CBSE Board Exams for Class 10, while for Class 12 the exams have been postponed. It’s certainly a great relief for the students who were spending days in fear with the prospects of sitting for the crucial examinations in the wake of the unprecedented rise in COVID19 cases across the country.

Amid the growing chants for cancellation of CBSE Board examinations for Class 10 and Class 12, Actor Sonu Sood had pitched in with his support for the students cause. He urged the government as well as the Board to conduct an internal assessment to promote the students rather than risking the students’ lives.

It seems, the prayer of the Simba actor has been answered and the students heaved a sigh of relief after the big announcement earlier during the day.

Sonu who became the Messiah for the migrant workers last year and went on to become the saviour/ Super Hero for several needy people amid the pandemic sadness, has proven himself as the ‘Brother Of The Nation’, as fans fondly call him. It seems, just like an elder brother, Sonu is quite happy over the announcement of Board exam cancellation and is celebrating his joy in a different way.

Earlier in the day, Sonu congratulated every student after the Board announced the exams’ cancellation and postponement, through his Tweet.

Later in the evening, he took a cycle ride to celebrate the victory of students. Sonu is seen riding his bicycle on rain-soaked Mumbai road with bicycling shorts, his trademark loose vests and sneakers.

He shared the video on his verified Twitter handle and captioned the video: “A ride for our students.”

Many appreciated the actor’s humility and thanked him for such gesture while several others trolled him for not wearing a mask and helmet.

Union Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal earlier today announced that the Board Exams for Class 10 to be held from 4th May to June 14th, 2021 are cancelled and the results will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board.

He further stated that the Board Exams for Class 12 to be held from May 4 to June, 14, 2021 are postponed. But, the new dates for the exams are yet to be announced.
