Hyderabad/Bhubaneswar: Casting couch, the demanding of sexual favours by persons in position, has always hunted the Indian film industry- it may be Bollywood or Tollywood. Recently, Tollywood actress Samantha Akkineni reacted to the ongoing sexual harassment controversy in the industry.

In an interview, she admitted that casting couch is a reality in all industries and not in just in films. She revealed that she didn’t have to face much hassles in the industry as her first film was a hit.

By saying this, the ‘Rangasthalam’ actress clearly mentioned that, ‘had the movie boomed at the box office, it would not have been a cake walk for her in the industry to reach the position she is currently at’.

In her eight years in Tamil and Telugu, Samantha has done many blockbuster movies and is now one of the most sought after actresses. With her mercerising acting skills, she has been able to garner a fan base that other actresses are, of course, envy of.

Besides, Samantha said that things are sunny in the industry except a few bad people. She also extended her support and welcomed the decision of the state government to form a special cell to probe into the alleged sexual exploitation charges in the industry.

Moreover, Rakul Preet recently faced massive backlash for her comments on the casting couch and trying to show a pretty picture of the film industry.

While actress Sri Reddy said Rakul should have spoken the truth about the reality, actress Madhavi Latha said Rakul was lying in fear of losing out opportunities.
