As of today Korean pop group BTS is one of the biggest bands in the world. While it is extremely popular in Asian countries, slowly it is also gaining a strong foothold in the Western music world as well.

In the UK every Friday, a few albums and songs receive new certifications from the British Phonographic Industry based on the buys and streaming from fans. On Friday, 26 February, a few of such hit singles and albums collected their advances or first plaques from BPI.

Those who received these coveted awards include big names like Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Bruno Mars, and many others. Importantly, it also includes the only Asian and world's biggest band of today, -K-pop BTS.

BTS Makes History With This Inclusion in List of BPL

The South Korean music band has made history by earning a new award last week. The band has managed to achieve a rare feat with its recent album Map of the Soul: 7. This particular album from the SK's vocal outfit has been declared gold in Great Britain. Interestingly, BTS is the only band from South Korea to rise to gold status.

But it is not the first time that the group's album has managed to earn this status. Previously their two albums Map of the Soul: Persona (May 2020) and Love Yourself: Answer (September 2020) earned gold status.

The group has been nominated for the #Nickelodeon The 2021 Kids' Choice Awards which will take place on March 13. Their recent performance on MTV Unplugged got record-breaking viewership and established once again that K-pop BTS is one of the biggest and most popular bands around today.
