Luke Thompson’s heritage revelation surprises fans

The revelation came during a recent conversation with Sakshma Srivastav, where Thompson casually opened up about his background. “Well, I am quarter Indian. Yeah, yeah, my grandmother is Indian, well, Indian English. So it would be lovely to come and meet my Indian fans one day,” he said.

The comment instantly caught attention online, with fans expressing surprise and curiosity about the actor’s roots. The timing of the reveal, just ahead of Benedict Bridgerton taking centre stage, has only added to the excitement surrounding the new season.

Why Luke Thompson stays away from social media

Despite the buzz, Thompson remains notably low-key online. The actor admitted that he isn’t active on Instagram—not out of dislike, but self-preservation. He shared that he finds social media too addictive and worries he would spend excessive time scrolling if he joined.

He recalled struggling to stop scrolling on TikTok while filming Season 3, an experience that prompted him to step back from social platforms altogether. Still, Thompson isn’t completely disconnected. Friends and colleagues regularly show him clips, memes, and viral reactions from the show, helping him stay in touch with audience response.

He also reflected on how important online reactions were during Bridgerton’s early days, especially when Season 1 released during lockdown. At the time, he chose to check reactions sparingly—just enough to understand how the show was resonating.

Benedict Bridgerton takes the lead in Season 4

Season 4 finally places Benedict Bridgerton at the heart of the story. After seasons of avoiding expectations and drifting through relationships, his arc takes a decisive turn. His love interest is Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha, introduced as the enigmatic “woman in silver” who captivates him at a masquerade ball hosted by his mother.

The romance comes with a complication: Sophie is not part of high society but a maid. Her secret status turns their connection into a forbidden relationship in a world governed by rank, reputation, and rigid social rules.

Netflix has confirmed that Bridgerton Season 4 will release in two parts—Part 1 on January 29, 2026, and Part 2 on February 26, 2026—spanning eight episodes in total.
