Hours after the trailer of season 2 of the Mirzapur web series was released #Boycott Mirzapur S2 started trending on Twitter. And it seems this trend has hit the popular web series badly as within 24 hours it received 24 K dislikes.

Apparently, the reason behind this dislike is its lead actor Ali Fazal, as well as the co-producer of this series Farhan Akhtar. In December 2019, both Fazal and Akhtar made some tweets in connection with nation-wide protests against NRC and CAA.

Ali Fazal used dialogue of his character Guddu from the Mirzapur series to support the protests. He wrote, “Suru majboori mein kiye thhey, ab maja aa raha hai!” And this led to the boycott trend for the web series second season.

Even Farhan Akhtar took part in the anti-CAA protests which is why the netizens are slamming Mirzapur S2. Apart from Farhan and Fazal, fans are also slamming lead actor Vikrant Massey for speaking against India.

The first season of the series aired almost two years ago and was a big hit. Ever since then fans were waiting for its second season to come on Amazon Prime. Fans are eager to find out what happens exactly to the characters of Divyenndu, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Ali Fazal, and Pankaj Tripath after the bloody showdown in season 1.
Gunfights and violence have been the key feature of the first season and the second season's trailer matches the expectations of the fans. Mirzapur 2 will stream on Amazon Prime on October 23, 2020.
