We all know when it comes to fan base, Bollywood's hit and fit actor Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia (Oops! Scratching your heads? Om Bhatia is none other than Akshay Kumar) is second to none. With numerous fan groups across the country, this group from Odisha which considers Akshay Kumar as their God has been a class apart, and able to draw his attention on the way they shower their love on him. Yes, Odisha Akkians is a trending name now in the State.

The Akkians consider Kumar as their fitness icon. “His contribution towards the society, his films on social issues, and an actor with no controversies, Akshay Sir is the best,” is what the proud Odisha Akkians say.

Formed by Sidhant Swain in 2016 with only six members, this group now has 90 odd members who throng theatres together for the first screening of every Akki movie.

In their language, if it's Akshay Sir's movie, it has to be FDFS (First Day First Show). For them, it's no less than a festival. Tall posters, huge banners, cake cuttings, and many things mark the celebrations during every release.

“When ur star is in the costliest film of the country then the celebration needs to be the best. It's a festival time for all Akkians,” tweeted Odisha Akkians after a grand 2.0 FDFS celebration at the Maharaja Hall in Bhubaneswar.

While youngsters from across the State are a part of the Odisha Akkians now, majority of fans in this group hail from Bhubaneswar. There’s one more in Odisha, Berhampur Akkians and the fans are planning to form another club in Cuttack.

“We celebrate Akshay Sir's birthday in a grand manner. Everytime, we visit different orphanages, spend some time to celebrate with them, cut cakes along with sharing one-time food. We have never missed his movie's first show on the day of its release,” says an ardent fan of Akki, Debaprasad Das.

Not only this, the youngsters also join hands in sweeping and cleaning the streets of the capital city during every Swachch Bharat programme.

Pleased with this gesture, Akshay Kumar had also responded to the youngsters and tweeted, "Appreciate all your love and efforts?? thank you."

Meanwhile, speaking to odishatv.in, the Akkians urged to convince the organisers to invite their Superstar to the closing ceremony of the ongoing Hockey Men's World  Cup in Bhubaneswar.

“Being a martial artist and stuntman, Akshay Sir should participate in the closing ceremony of the ongoing Hockey Men's World Cup here in Bhubaneswar. That's one way our dreams of seeing him in front of us would get fulfilled,” said an optimistic Sidhhant Swain who considers Akshay Kumar his God.

Through a tweet, they had also requested CM Naveen to invite Akshay Kumar as he was successful in bringing SRK and Salman for the opening ceremonies.

In a career spanning over twenty five years, Kumar has appeared in over a hundred films and has won several awards, including the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Rustom (2017), and two Filmfare Awards for Ajnabee (2001) and Garam Masala (2005).
