Bigg Boss 19 has been drawing attention for all the wrong reasons lately. In the latest episodes, contestants Tanya Mittal and Neelam Giri have come under heavy criticism for repeatedly body-shaming fellow contestant Ashnoor Kaur.
During a captaincy task between Pranit More and Shehbaz Badesha, Tanya and Neelam were caught making derogatory remarks about Ashnoor’s weight, calling her “haathi” and “moti.”
These comments immediately went viral, leading to widespread outrage among fans and celebrities alike.

Netizens Stand Up for Ashnoor
Soon after the episode aired, social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit were flooded with reactions condemning Tanya and Neelam’s behaviour.
One user wrote, “Body-shaming someone on national TV is disgusting. Tanya and Neelam clearly think it’s funny, but it’s straight-up bullying. Stay strong, Ashnoor!” Another commented, “They keep targeting Ashnoor because she’s younger and composed. Tanya calling her haathi and moti is shameful.”
Ashnoor’s Father Responds with a Powerful Message
Adding to the discussion, Ashnoor’s father, Gurmeet Singh, took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the issue. Sharing a reel featuring Amaal Mallik, Kunickaa Sadanand, Tanya Mittal, Neelam Giri, and Shehbaz Badesha’s comments, he wrote,
“Why is everyone so insecure about a 21-year-old? Oh, I know… they can’t match her levels of dignity and grace.”
His sharp yet dignified response resonated with many fans who praised him for standing up for his daughter in the face of public humiliation.
Housemates Fat-Shaming Conversations
Notably, Tanya, Kunickaa, and Neelam — were seen mocking Ashnoor’s body again while sitting at the dining table. They speculated about why the young actress wasn’t losing weight despite following a detox diet and regular workouts.
Neelam was heard saying, “Kitni moti hai, sara din gym karti hai fir bhi itni moti kaise? Uske dresses hum par zyada suit karenge.” Tanya added that Ashnoor looked older than them, while Kunickaa commented, “Even my 13-year-old granddaughter knows what to eat and what not to.”
During a ration task, Tanya once again referred to Ashnoor as “haathi”, continuing her streak of body-shaming remarks.
Fans Demand Action from Salman Khan
Viewers have now demanded that host Salman Khan address the issue on Weekend Ka Vaar and call out the contestants for their repeated derogatory comments. The online outrage continues to grow, with many urging Bigg Boss to take strict action against the offenders.
This is getting out of hand now. Tanya and Neelam repeatedly calling Ashnoor "Bada Haathi", "Moti" is pure body shaming.
