One Condition Before Saying Yes to Acting

While Amaal is excited by the idea of acting, he is clear that he does not want to restrict himself to just performing in front of the camera. He stated that if he takes up an acting role, especially a central character, he would like to also compose the music and background score for the film. Emphasising his strength in background music, he said he understands how sound elevates emotions, scenes, and character entries.

Breaking Out of the ‘Song Composer’ Box

Amaal also addressed how he often gets typecast only as a song composer. He highlighted that he has worked on background scores and thematic music for 47 films, including powerful hero and villain entries. According to him, this side of his work often goes unnoticed despite being a major creative strength.

Inspired by Multi-Hyphenate Filmmakers

Drawing inspiration from filmmakers like Vishal Bhardwaj and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Amaal believes it is possible to balance multiple creative roles. Reflecting on his decision to join Bigg Boss 19, he said he wanted people to know him as an individual — and clearly establish his identity as Amaal Mallik, not someone else.
