Bhumi Pednekar's Durgamati The Myth trailer was released today. And fans welcomed it on Twitter with mixed reactions. There are a few who have appreciated Bhumi, but most of the netizens believe that it is no match to the original.

In the original Telugu flick titled Bhaagamathie, Southern diva Anushka Shetty played the lead character of a female IAS officer possessed by a ghost. The theme revolves around a ghost of a queen who seeks revenge.

Most of the fans believe that even though Bhumi is a fabulous actress as the ghost of dead queen Anushka Shetty excelled than her.

A user wrote, "#BhumiPednekar might be an outstanding actress but 2 replicate what #AnushkaShetty has done in #bhagmati is a huge task n potentially impossible! #bollywood has 2 searches for new topics rather than copying the work of South industry n presenting it as their own! #Durgamati #DURGAVATI."


A film critic group has slammed the remake saying why copy when you cannot do justice. The group wrote, "Why Copy When You Cant Copy ....#Durgamati is a copy of #Bhaagamathie #BhumiPednekar it is not easy to replicate the original #AnushkaShetty had excelled in her role....@ArshadWarsi."


Many believe that it is going to be an uphill task for Bhumi Pednekar to match the level of the Baahubali actress. One user said, "You decide! Durgamati (2020) vs. Bhaagamathie (2018) It's going to be an uphill battle for Bhumi Pednekar to match the intensity of Anushka Shetty!"


While this may be the reaction of netizens critics have hailed Bhumi's ferocious look in the trailer.



About Bhumi Pednekar's Durgamati in Nutshell

Apart from the Pati Patni Aur Woh actress the movie also stars Arshad Warsi, Mahie Gill, Karan Kapadia, and Jisshu Sengupta in important roles. All set to premiere in December this year, Durgamati is directed by Ashok who earlier directed the original Telugu flick ‘Bhaagamathie’ (2018).

Bhumi will be playing the role of a Government officer who gets trapped in a sinister conspiracy. The trailer opens with Arshad Warsi addressing common people while police officer Mahie Gill is trying to hatch a conspiracy against him. To trap Arshad, Mahie releases Bhumi from jail and takes her to the Durgamati haveli.

The entire trailer is full of twists and turns and surely keeps you hooked. If that is the way the movie is going to flow, it is sure to impress the audience.
