Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the longest-running soaps in Indian television and yet fans love the show and its characters like in the initial years. The show has given us many memorable actors and one such actor was Tapu aka Bhavya Gandhi who was the audience’s favorite since his childhood. Now the little Tapu we saw on screen is all grown up.

Bhavya Gandhi who essayed the role of Daya’s (Disha Vakani) son Tapu in TMKOC left the show in 2017 after being a part of it for 9 years. He left the Telly show to pursue his career in films and experiment in the field of acting. The audience saw Bhavya grow on the screen in Tapu’s character and missed him dearly after he quit the show.

Gandhi is now busy shooting most of the time for films, often gives his fans a glimpse of his life. He has now grown into a man and is almost unrecognizable which has swooned the netizens. Fans still keep commenting that they miss him as Tapu and his old antics on his posts.

Meanwhile, the reel life mother-son duo Disha and Bhavya are very close in real life as well and still keep in touch. Recently, he opened up their relationship and said that she still gets shocked seeing him in a beard. "We definitely have these video calls sometimes, and every time, she sees me, she goes, 'Aahhh, what, beard?' (laughs) I say, yes, I've got a beard now. She has never seen me in a beard, so she gets shocked. I say, 'Haan, aave gaiyo' (Yes, they've grown) and I am growing them more." He told TOI.

He also shared being in touch with Tapu Sena every now and then. He added that he left the show as playing one character was getting monotonous.

Disha Vakani has been away from the show since her maternity leave and speculations of her returning crop up every now and then. For fans, first without Tapu then Daya, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has lost its original charm.
