She shared, “I always promised Mrs Kohli that my journey in the show would start with aan, baan aur shaan and that is exactly how it would end too. I could not have asked for a better exit. There is no point delving into the reasons for the replacement. I see it as a blessing in disguise because as an artiste, I want to explore new characters. The idea is to step out of here and start looking for work again. After seeing so much in life, I am in fighter mode now and focused only on my daughter and my work.”

Her final days on set were filled with emotion. “It definitely felt like leaving home. I became extremely emotional in the last few days of the shoot. The character had become a part of me. I feel immense gratitude because this show has given me everything.”

“I am grateful that viewers accepted me with so much love”

Shubhangi stepped into the role in 2016 after Shilpa Shinde’s exit- an intimidating challenge she overcame with dedication.

“Replacing someone is never easy… I am grateful that viewers accepted me with so much love. In the end, I am satisfied that I did my work with honesty and dedication,” she said.

She also expressed deep affection for the team, adding she would miss the technicians the most. Packing up after ten years wasn’t easy either.

“I have so many personal belongings on set… It has been a very emotional journey. When I looked at the walls and my room, it hit me that ten years is a long time,” she added.
