Thor is gearing up for another thunderous chapter in the MCU, but behind the spectacle of Avengers: Doomsday lies a hilariously relatable father-daughter saga. Chris Hemsworth has revealed that convincing his teenage daughter, India Rose, to reprise her role as Love required more than parental persuasion - it demanded strategy, patience, and yes, a “bribe.”
Her return not only reunites the on-screen duo but also strengthens Thor’s evolving emotional arc.

Love’s Return Strengthens Thor’s Story
India Rose first appeared in Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) as Love - the resurrected daughter of Gorr the God Butcher. By the film’s end, she becomes Thor’s adopted child, forming a bond that reshaped the God of Thunder’s journey. Now, Love is set to return in Marvel Studios’ next mega event film. The confirmation adds emotional weight to Thor’s storyline, especially after fans recently spotted a brief glimpse of her in a teaser featuring Thor.
Reports suggest Love may play a pivotal role, possibly alerting Thor about the looming threat of Doctor Doom. Given her link to the cosmic entity Eternity, her involvement could be crucial in the unfolding battle.
Teenage Attitude Meets Marvel Mayhem
Convincing a 13-year-old to step back into a superhero universe isn’t as simple as summoning Mjolnir. Speaking during an appearance on The View (via EW), Hemsworth shared how different things felt this time around.
Chris said, "She’s now 13, so she’s a teenager, so a bit different to when we shot the other one. And she walks on set and she’s like, ‘Ugh, how long is this gonna take?’ I was like, ‘We haven’t even started!’"
On the first day of filming, her impatience continued. Hemsworth recalled that India asked, "Are we done?"
When he explained they had "another two or three days" left, enthusiasm was in short supply.
The ‘Bribe’ That Sealed the Deal
What followed was a negotiation worthy of a Marvel subplot. Hemsworth admitted he had to offer incentives to get her fully on board.
"She’s like, ‘Aww, God.’ Just this angsty, sort of teenage attitude! And in the end, I had to bribe her to come onto set. She’s like, ‘I’m not coming! I’m not even getting paid! What am I even doing here?’ And I go, ‘You are getting paid.’ She goes, ‘Really? You didn’t tell me that,’" revealed Chris.
The negotiation didn’t stop there. India wasn’t quite content with long-term financial planning.
When told her earnings would be saved until adulthood, she responded, "Nah! Nah, I want some of it now,." Hemsworth added, "And [Doomsday co-director] Joe Russo and the directors are there and they’re like, ‘…We gotta get her on set.’"
The actor clarified that this wasn’t a meltdown, but simply teenage resistance - joking that India may already be turning into a “difficult actor.”

A Father-Daughter Dynamic Fans Will Love
While details about Love’s screen time remain under wraps, her confirmed return promises emotional resonance amid cosmic chaos. Whether she serves as the one to warn Thor about Doctor Doom or becomes central to protecting Eternity, Love’s presence ensures that Avengers: Doomsday won’t just be about world-ending stakes - but about family, too.
