With the trend of coming of age films taking over the audience, young actresses are trying to show their versatility with unique roles. However, it seems some gen-next actresses like Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday are shying away to take up bold roles which has now been grabbed by Rakul Preet Singh.
As per the latest reports, Rakul Preet Singh has signed a film under the RSVP movies where she will be playing a sexecutive or condom tester. For those of you who do not know what a sexecutive or condom tester is, they are employees hired by condom brands to test the durability of their products before they are launched in the market.

But Rakul wasn’t the first choice for playing the character. The project was initially offered to Sara Ali Khan. “Sara, who is also doing the Vicky Kaushal starrer Ashwatthama under the same banner, was approached for the social drama. But after the narration, she politely refused the film. She informed the RSVP team she won’t be able to do the role of a sexecutive in the project” a source quoted in Bollywood Hungama.

Not just Sara, it was also pitched to Ananya Panday before it landed on Rakul’s lap. The source added, “After Sara declined the offer, the film was offered to Ananya Panday who also let it pass. Apparently, Ananya and her team felt that the concept and the role was too bold for her, so she didn’t want to do it.”

Rakul Preet Singh, who is usually seen in commercial movies, now has a chance to impress the audiences with this unique role. It seems like Ananya and Sara’s loss has come around as Rakul’s profit.
Meanwhile, Rakul will be next seen in Sardar Ka Grandson, starring Arjun Kapoor and Neena Gupta. The film will release on Netflix on May 18, 2021.
