Bollywood actresses Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Zareen Khan and many others have earlier shared their experiences and struggles in the B-Town. Among many others, these popular actresses received brutal criticism for their figure. Now, young and fierce actress Ananya Panday has come up in the list of actresses in the industry who were body-shamed.

The Khaali Peeli actress during a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble opened up about being body-shamed.

Though it is unbelievable, people earlier body-shamed the actress and often referred her as a boy. Ananya opened up that people used to say she looked like a boy and in reference to her assets, addressed her with terms like 'flat-screen'.

The Liger actress also expressed how the mean comments and nasty remarks demoralized her and led her to doubt on herself.
Star kid Ananya was in the limelight before making her debut in the B-Town. During the interview, she also said that she was trolled for her figure and it had a great adverse impact on her.

"I don't remember the exact time but I remember there used to be pictures of me with my parents. At that time, I wasn't an actor. I would go out with my parents and as I said, I was very thin. People used to say I look like a boy, a 'flat screen' and all those kinds of things," Ananya revealed to Bollywood Bubble in a video interview.

Further, she said that those nasty comments hurt her a lot at that time as it was the age when she was building her self-confidence and learning to love self.

"When you feel like someone else is pulling you down, you start doubting yourself, the way you look, and everything. But I feel like now, slowly, I am reaching a point where I am just focusing on accepting myself," she added.

She further added, "If that is sorted and that is my foundation then nothing can hurt me since I am at peace with myself and I love myself. I am not saying it has happened. It is an ongoing process but I feel this realisation is more important than what anyone else says."

To tackle cyberbullying, Ananya had launched a campaign- 'So Positive' in 2019.

With her growing popularity and achievements, the actress has certainly proved herself to the 'bullies' that talent and dedication towards work are the main attributes that can lead to greater heights, and shut their 'bad mouth'.

On the work front, Ananya was last seen in Khaali Peeli opposite Ishaan Khattar and is busy with Liger opposite South Indian star Vijay Deverakonda. She will also be seen with Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi in Shakun Batra's next untitled.
