Ajay Devgn started shooting for Mayday today in Hyderabad. He made the announcement on social media earlier in the morning. The B-town's Bajirao Singham wrote, "Happy to officially begin MayDay in a start-to-finish shooting schedule. Seek blessings from the Almighty and my parents. Nothing is complete without the support of all my fans, family, well-wishers. Releases on 29th April 2022."

The movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh. While Ajay and Big B have worked earlier in a few movies, this will be the first time in seven years that they will reunite on the silver screen.

This will also be the first time that the senior Bachchan will be working under the direction of Ajay Devgn. The Apaharan actor has earlier directed movies like Shivaay and U, Me Aur Hum.

For Rakul Preet Singh it will be the first movie with the legendary superstar. She has already worked with Ajay Devgn in De De Pyaar De. For the Aiyaary actress, this is a dream come true moment.
Expressing her joy for being a part of Mayday, Rakul said, "When I decided to be an actor like all the other aspiring actors I had a dream to work with Mr. Bachchan and I am so glad that with this film my dream to share screen space with him will come true."
According to reports, Rakul Preet Singh and Ajay are portraying the role of pilots in Mayday.

When the movie was at its scripting stage, Ajay immediately thought of Amitabh Bachchan for the lead role. However, which role Big B will play is not yet clear.
Apart from Mayday, Amitabh Bachchan will also be seen in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra which stars Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. The star of the millennium has also been roped in to play a full-length role in Nag Ashwin's next that stars Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.
Currently, Big B is busy shooting for KBC 12 episodes which air on weekdays on Sony Television.
