Why the Akshay Kumar Rumours Started

The buzz began after IMDb listed Akshay Kumar’s name under the film’s cast as a “special appearance,” triggering excitement and widespread chatter on social media. Adding to the speculation were reports claiming that Akki might have stepped in as the antagonist following Randeep Hooda’s exit from the project a few days before the shooting commencement.

However, these rumours have now been firmly put to rest. According to a source quoted by Hindustan Times, “Akshay is not a part of O’Romeo, in any role.”

The clarification confirms that neither a cameo nor a full-fledged role by Akshay exists in the film.

What Happened to Randeep Hooda?

Reports suggest that Randeep Hooda exited the project days before shooting due to a family emergency. Following his departure, Avinash Tiwary reportedly stepped in and will be seen portraying the antagonist in O’Romeo. His casting has further added intrigue to the project.

Legal Notice Adds Another Twist

The film has also landed in controversy after reports claimed it is inspired by real-life figures Hussain Ustara and Sapna Didi. Sanober, daughter of Hussain Sheikh (Ustara), has reportedly issued a legal notice to producer Sajid Nadiadwala, seeking ₹2 crore in damages for alleged defamation and asking for a pause on the film’s release until her concerns are addressed.
