Your love is invaluable to me, and I will return the money in the same way I received it.” He further added, “I want to thank the people, so many came forward to help. So many children supported me. I don’t think I can ever repay this in my lifetime.” His emotional statement highlighted the overwhelming support he received from the public during his legal battle.

Background of the Case

Rajpal’s legal troubles began in 2010 when he borrowed Rs 5 crore from Murali Projects Pvt Ltd to fund his directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata. However, the film’s failure at the box office led to a repayment crisis, resulting in a legal case. The actor was convicted under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act after seven cheques bounced. Despite partial repayments, the actor still faced significant liability. In February 2026, he surrendered to authorities at Tihar Jail, where financial help poured in from fellow actors and industry members.
