Late Rishi Kapoor made his debut in Bollywood 50 years ago with Mera Naam Joker in 1970. It was a movie directed by his father Raj Kapoor in which he played the role of a 16-year-old Raju. Taking to Instagram, Chintuji's daughter Riddhima  Kapoor Sahni shared a sweet message recalling his journey of five decades.

In her post, Riddhima shared four pictures of  Rishi Kapoor that show him as a teenager, a young man in his twenties, a middle-aged star, and an old man. She wrote, "Legend forever. #50yearstoday #indianfilmindustry. Miss you so much."

Rishi Kapoor's wife and Riddhima's mom Neetu Kapoor also shared the same poster on Instagram and penned, "Mera naam joker released on 18th dec. 1970 .. today would have been his 50 years in the indian film industry #rishikapoor."

Leading celebrities and close family friends reacted to this Insta post from Neetu Kapoor. Soni Razdan penned, "Wow what super pics. Such a fine actor. We all miss him."

Anil Kapoor who is working with Neetuji in their upcoming movie Jug Jugg Jeeyo wrote, "Miss his presence on and of the screen ..national award for best child artiste for Mera Naam joker .. a masterpiece made by the great Raj Kapoor."

Famous producer and director Karan Johar wrote, "My absolute favorite actor of all times."

Rishi Kapoor Recalled Making Debut in Mera Naam Joker In His Tweet Last Year

Last year on 18th December Rishiji himself shared this memory of making a debut in Bollywood with Mera Naam Joker on Twitter. He wrote, "Privileged to be part of this film. Shot this in ‘67/‘68. Released today 18th December’70. 49 years back!"

Incidentally, Rishi Kapoor won his first and only National Award for Mera Naam Joker as a child artist which was one reason why this movie was so special for him.
