The results of the prestigious Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2025 were declared on March 6, 2026, bringing joy, pride, and inspiration to thousands of aspirants across India.

This year, 958 candidates have been recommended for appointment to various services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS), after successfully clearing the rigorous three-stage selection process comprising the Preliminary exam, Main exam, and Personality Test.

From Small Towns In Bihar To Global Achievers

Among the success stories emerging from this year’s results, candidates from Bihar have once again demonstrated remarkable excellence, proving why the state continues to be regarded as a powerhouse of civil service aspirants. Several candidates from Bihar secured impressive All India Ranks, reflecting the state’s deep-rooted culture of academic determination and perseverance.

Leading the list is Raghav Jhunjhunwala from Muzaffarpur, who secured AIR 4, placing him among the top achievers in the country. Close behind is Ujjawal Priyank from Patna, who achieved AIR 10, followed by Monika Shrivastava from Aurangabad with AIR 16. Ravi Raaz from Nawada secured AIR 20, while Istitva Anand from Patna achieved AIR 50. Further adding to the state’s pride, Abhishek Chauhan from Samastipur secured AIR 102, and Ayush Kumar from Samastipur earned AIR 143.

Breaking Stereotypes

These aspirants mostly from small towns and modest backgrounds, spent years preparing for the civil services examination, often studying in libraries, hostels and coaching hubs across the country.

The UPSC Civil Services Examination is widely regarded as one of the toughest competitive exams in the world, making every success story extraordinary. Yet Bihar’s consistent presence among top rankers sends a clear message: while it may be easy for some to mock Biharis, matching their dedication and resilience is far more difficult.
