The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that the results of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) for the December 2025 session are expected to be released by February 4, 2026.

The update was shared by the agency through a post on its social media platform X. 

Once declared, candidates who appeared for the examination will be able to access and download their results from the official NTA website.

Examination Conduct And Coverage

The UGC NET December 2025 examination was conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across the country between December 31, 2025 and January 7, 2026. 

The test was held for a total of 85 subjects, covering a wide academic spectrum. The examination was organised at multiple centres nationwide to ensure smooth conduct for candidates from different regions.

How To Check Results

  • Candidates will need to visit the official website nta.ac.in.
  • Navigate to UGC NET 2026 examination section
  • Candidates can click on the result link
  • Download scorecard and save it for future reference

Purpose Of UGC NET

UGC NET is a national-level examination conducted to assess the eligibility of Indian nationals for the award of Junior Research Fellowship, appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD programmes in universities and colleges across India. The test plays a key role in determining academic and research careers in higher education.
