The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for UGC NET December 2025 on October 7, 2025. Candidates aspiring to appear for the examination can now submit their applications online through the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The test will be conducted for 85 subjects in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
According to the official schedule, the last date to submit applications is November 7, 2025, up to 11:50 PM. The same deadline applies for the online payment of application fees.
The correction window will remain open from November 10 to 12, 2025, up to 11:50 PM. Details regarding the examination date, admit card release, and exam city intimation slips will be shared by NTA at a later date.
NTA has clarified that candidates must apply for UGC NET December 2025 exclusively through the online mode on its official website. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.
Each candidate is allowed to submit only one application form, and failure to follow the instructions in the Information Bulletin will lead to disqualification. Applicants should ensure that their e-mail address and mobile number are valid and accessible, as all communications will be sent through these channels.

Application Fee
The application fee is Rs 1,150 for General category candidates, Rs 600 for General-EWS/OBC(NCL) candidates, and Rs 325 for SC/ST/PwD/PwBD/Third Gender candidates. The payment can be made via net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.
UGC-NET is conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for the award of Junior Research Fellowship, appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to Ph.D. programmes in Indian universities and colleges.
